20 years ago a large number of people were expecting that by 2020 there will probably be holograms and flying cars as some movies depicted. Everything advanced and futuristic, but at this rate it may or may not be possible. No one is certain. Some great mind may be able to find the way to defy gravity. With the progress that science and technology is making it could be possible. How about education? Some are guessing that it will be better, high quality education but higher tuition fees to pay. However, some are skeptical about it. They think that education is heading the wrong way; it is starting to be all about profits and less quality education. The value and quality of education is of importance in a person's life, it is a fact that a number of people realize and despite the hardship they had to go through they pursued higher education.

Nowadays, application in school and enrollment has evolved. Some schools and universities offer online courses, enrollment and school applications through the internet. Students need not be physically present in class during regular class hours. Internet education is rampant online. Some class lessons are posted in class websites that students can access and get information for assignments and other school works. Anyone envisions a future of virtual college? Where one need not be physically present in class, but sitting in their comfortable homes instead? It is an attractive thought but, some doubt the quality of education it will be able to deliver. With this kind of education, students will have less physical interaction with other enrollees. Thus the social development that should be developed during this period will be hindered.

Imagine how a surgeon will demonstrate surgical operations through virtual communication. There is a staggering difference between being physically present in class and watching the whole thing with your own eyes from watching it on screen. Real life needs real interaction, once you've found a job you need to interact with co-workers and the needed ground for social development is the school premises. There is some advantage in using modern technology to conduct transactions in schools and can enhance student education 2020. It organizes files easier, make enrollment and application faster. Finding information is faster using modern technology devices.

However, currently some groups of professional and countries as well promote and aim high quality education starting this year till year as student education 2020 program. Their objective is to make progress in implementing long lasting education strategies and flexible education path way. Improvement in the quality and more efficient learning/education and training, is another objective of the group. They are also promoting competence in developing and acquiring skills, development of creativity, education innovation and entrepreneurship on all levels of learning and training. This is something a few group is promoting, the only problem left is its implementation. Visions like this are easier said than done.
